Grants in support of academic institutions with the aim of stimulating knowledge of the European integration process

    The Jean Monnet Action and the Support for Study and Research Centres awards grants in support of academic institutions with the aim of stimulating knowledge of the European integration process through teaching, reflection, debate, applied research and the activities of the Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence, professors and researchers.
    These two instruments are open to the world. In the candidate countries, they aim to prepare the new generation of European affairs specialists with a view to the accession of these countries to the European Union. In universities throughout the world the goal is to give greater visibility, at both international and national levels, to scientific resources and academic activities in the field of European integration and European Union developments.
    The call for proposals (vade mecum) for the Jean Monnet Action and for the Support for Study and Research Centres is available at the following Internet address:

    From 1 January 2006, the selection process for the Jean Monnet Action and the Support for Study and Research Centres is managed by the Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency. The Agency was set up by the European Commission following Decision 2005/56/EC of 14 January 2005. The Executive Agency is responsible for the management of certain parts of the Community's programmes in the fields of education, culture and audiovisual.
    The deadline for the submission of applications is 31 March 2006 (postmark).
