July 6, 2007.
organized a workshop in Kyiv focusing on student assessment in civic education and the skills and techniques teachers need, including recent developments in citizenship education in the UK and their possible application to the situation in Ukraine.

Participants were drawn from all four pilot oblasts and included rayon methodologists and pilot school teachers and participants from the previous workshops, as well as new participants. The main aims of the workshop were:

° To look at assessment for learning, as well as assessment of learning
° To look at student participation in assessment, including peer and self-assessment
° To look at experience and best practice in Ukraine
° To develop and discuss an assessment task
The workshop will contribute to teachers’ and methodologists understanding of assessment and how to assess civic education activities.
