On 14 May in Kyiv, 19 May in Odessa and 22 May in Donetsk the largest Europe Day in the world was celebrated in Ukraine. Hundred of thousands of Ukrainian citizens visited the European Villages in these cities and enjoyed concerts of Ukrainian and EU artists. Now, the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine expands its informational activities to other cities in Western Ukraine. From 26 May to 4 June the Delegation will send an especially decorated bus and an EU information team to the following nine cities:
26 May – Zhytomir (Cathedral Square)
27 May – Rivne (Independence Square)
28 May – Lutsk (Theatre Square)
29 May – Ternopil (Theatre Square)
    31 May – Ivano-Frankivsk (City Hall Square)
1 June – Chernivtsi (Cathedral Square)
    2 June – Kamenetsk-Podilski (City Hall Square)
3 June – Chmelnitski (Independence Square)
4 June – Vinnitsa (Recreation and Culture Park)
The EU’s Regional Information Bus Tour is organized by the Delegation of the European Commission with the objective to bring information about the European Union and its relations with Ukraine to the Ukrainian youth in the regions of Ukraine. The RID is supported by the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine, local city administrations, the European Youth Parliament of Ukraine and local non-governmental organizations. Representatives of these institutions and organizations will accompany the RID team throughout the tour and will present their views on various EU aspects and will be available for questions from the audience.
In each city the bus will stop at the main square and run its programme from 14:00 to 18:00. The programme includes quizzes and competitions conducted by TV presenter Oleksiy Gnilusha (ICTV) and DJ Kid (Gala Radio) in which participants can test their knowledge about the economy, cultural and social life in the European Union. More in-depth information about the EU will be distributed and explained by the EU information team.
