Ukrainian exporters No 1 global users of the EU Export Helpdesk in early 2016

January 13, 2016.

    During the first two weeks of 2016, Ukrainian companies for the very first time have outnumbered any other country worldwide (including EU Member States) in the use of the EU free-of-charge web-based platform "Export Helpdesk".
    The reason for this seems clear: the EU-Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) provisionally entered into force on 1 January 2016. The fact that Ukrainians are now the most frequent users of the Export helpdesk means that Ukrainian businesses have been preparing to increase exports to the EU and are actively exploring and examining new export opportunities on EU markets.
    Background:
    The Export Helpdesk (http://exporthelp.europa.eu) is the EU main online tool designed to assist exporters from outside the EU. In just a few clicks companies can find out exact information on, for example:
    the rules and regulations applying to products exported to the EU from third countries like Ukraine;
    duties and other requirements (environmental, technical, marketing standards like labelling, etc.) applicable to the exports of their products to the EU;
    possible preferential arrangements and discounts their products can benefit from and under which conditions;
    statistics relating to EU imports from trade partner countries.
    The Export Helpdesk is currently available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
