Verhovna Rada Gave in to Demands of Militarians

    *** Today under the walls of Verhovna Rada about thousand representatives of the Union of the Soviet officers gathered with requirement to cancel restrictions on increase of pensions of former military men.
    
    Today under the walls of Verhovna Rada about thousand representatives of the Union of the Soviet officers gathered with requirement to cancel restrictions on increase of pensions of former military men. In particular, picketers demanded cancellation of article 39 of the Law “On the State budget of Ukraine for 2005”, regulating payment of pensions of the former military man. People's Deputies gave in to the military men and accepted the appropriate decision. For a cancellation of article 39 319 members of parliament voted.
    
    One year and billions of hrivnas are needed to equalize in rights military pensioners, resigned in Soviet times, with the military men having got pension during Independence of Ukraine. The assistant to the regional military commissioner on financial issues Igor Lubentsov reported about it today. Military pensioners will begin to receive identical pensions only since January, 2006.
