New agricultural cooperatives are being created in Kyiv region to support small farmers
July 20, 2025.
In the Kyiv region, the formation of new agricultural cooperatives is actively continuing. Since the beginning of the year, more than 40 new small farmers’ cooperatives have been registered in the region, working in vegetable growing, berry cultivation, and primary processing of products. According to representatives of the regional agro-industrial development department, cooperation has become a necessary but effective step for the survival of small businesses during wartime. Most cooperatives focus on joint procurement of seeds, equipment, irrigation systems, and accessing new markets. Financial and advisory support to these cooperatives is provided by international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Germany's GIZ. Under the regional cooperation support program, partial reimbursement of equipment costs is planned for cooperative members. Experts believe that cooperation will help rural communities in Kyiv region improve economic resilience and reduce dependence on resellers and intermediaries.
