The meeting with legal experts - victims of prosecutions from Belarus and Russia - took place yesterday in NaUkMa

    On May, 12th at 19:00 at cinema club NaUkMa (street Naberezhno-Hreshchatinska, 27, whom. 13, a film society) the meeting with active workers of public organizations " BISONS " (Belarus) and "Memorial" (Russia, the Chechen Republic) which pursue for them right protective activity in native lands took place. Creative group of our television studio " Rule of law " Foundation, took part in shootings during a meeting. We managed to write down greater exclusive interviews to legal experts from Belarus and the Chechen republic. These materials will be transferred to ours " to the Public video archive under human rights ", and also placed in mass-media. In it interview legal experts have stated everyone the estimation of a state of affairs accordingly in Belarus and Russia, in particular to the Chechen republic. In particular Belarus right protective Irina Tojstsik, has named elections which shortly take place in parliament of Belarus: " The next farce which will turn on national agree, at full isolation of political opposition, liquidation of independent mass-media, etc. ". Nevertheless, according to Irina Tojstsik " we have examples of Ukraine, Georgia others postSoviet the countries which have removed from itself shackles of presidents - dictators ".
     In turn Shakman Akbulatov which are headed Nazranian office " Memorial " (Russia), in the interview has given the developed characteristic of a state of affairs of the person in the Chechen republic. In particular he has named this condition " a genocide of Chechen people ", having compared so-called "cleenings" which are spent by Russian army: " with tragedies which occurred in the Hut,Songmi... " . The legal expert has specified, that any " stabilization and occurrences of a situation in the Chechen Republic in the constitutional field actually do not occur ". However S. Akbulatov has thanked Ukraine for " a successful example of revival in modern to an expert, peace national - emancipating movement ". And we shall remind, that on May, 11th in Kiev the global action of the International Amnesty „ the speaker has started-round of Defenders of human rights " against prosecutions of legal experts in Belarus, the Russian Federation, Turkey and to Turkmenistan. The global action will last from May, 2005 by January, 2006, will pass on the countries of the Europe and the Central Asia, will come to the end in the USA.
     The action is continuation of activity IA on protection of concrete persons which have suffered for realization of the right to freedom of expression, assemblies and associations, for right protection public work. Within the limits of the action representatives of the countries-targets - victims of prosecutions, will visit practically all the countries of the Europe, and also the USA for the sake of participation in public actions, meetings with public figures, politicians, mass-media, leaders national and international NGO if only not only to inform on a situation with human rights in own countries, but also through the international solidarity to provide the international protection and safety in their native lands or abroad, and also to strengthen pressure upon the governments of Belarus, the Russian Federation, Turkey and Turkmenistan. To press on the governments it is necessary for if only to force them to provide respect for human rights from civil servants. Including, the right to freedom of expression, associations and assemblies, i.e. To guarantee legitimacy of work of legal experts, active workers of social movements, journalists and other groups and to create conditions for full realization of these rights without obstacles and prosecutions.
     The organization declares - there is all the bases to approve, that among European and central Asian countries Russian Federation, Belarus, Turkmenistan and Turkey unfortunately, differ infringements and prosecutions which are applied by the governments to people for peace realization of their rights to freedom of expression, assemblies and associations. The international Amnesty is concerned by that in these countries the government represents activity of legal experts as criminal, and also that representatives of the government subject to their intimidations, to arrests and torture. The greatest anxiety causes that fact, that the authority creates all these infringements at all not being afraid of any consequences and the responsibility.
