EU funded project for Small and Medium Enterprises in Agriculture announces start of training programme

    Project “Improvement of logistic services and marketing channels for SMEs in agriculture” is pleased to announce the start of an -open training programme that will be implemented throughout the project operations in each of the project regions.
    The training programme will commence in October with seminars in marketing and will be followed by business planning and credit application early next year. The following topics will be covered during a marketing seminar: marketing management, customer needs and customer service management, analysis of target groups, market segmentation, cost and value added, stakeholders needs in a supply chain, branding, its advantages and disadvantages, forms of distribution, etc.
    Training programme will be free for all participants.
    Open training programme is divided into two days. The first day will be a full day training for wide audience consisting of project target groups: agricultural small and medium enterprises, private farmers, agricultural associations, policy makers, oblasts and rayons administrations, buyers, traders, students, university academia, other stakeholders and of course the project supply chain members.
    The second day will be “Ask the expert” day – a one-to-one consultation with the project experts to answer specific questions related to marketing field. It will be available for all the parties invited for the first day but the project supply chain members, since they will get fuller and larger pieces of advice during the project life. This session will start at 9:00 and be finished at 14:00. “Ask the expert” day will be held in Kharkov, Chernivtsi and Melitopol.

    The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of the Ukraine and the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine initiated the Project “Improvement of Logistic Services and Marketing Channels for SMEs in Agriculture” which was designed by the European Union’s Technical Assistance Programme.
    The project, which is managed by a Scanagri Sweden led consortium, was initiated in March 2005. Work will focus on an increase of incomes to household producers and agro-food producers SMEs, improvement of the social and economic welfare of the rural population and contribution to the privatization process in agriculture, promotion of the rationalisation of marketing channels and help to stabilise the interests of market participants.
