Center for Political Education launched the web-site opened “Civic Initiatives in Elections”

    *** Carrying on the tradition to inform citizens about the election processes in Ukraine, Center for Political Education started its new web-site “Civic Initiatives in Elections” - www.VYBIR.org.ua.
    
    “Civic Initiatives in Elections” is an Internet resource, which mission is to help civic activists in their activities on providing fair, transparent and competitive elections in Ukraine, as well as to help voters to find themselves in the variety of civic election initiatives and election events.
    
    The web-site starts from News section, which contains the recent news on elections, participation of non-governmental organizations in election processes. You personally can add your news, sending it by email (webmaster@cpe.org.ua), or through the special web-site function to Add News.
    
    You can also subscribe to the Email listing, and you will receive recent information on elections to your email box.
    
    In the section Elections-2006 you can find the information about the procedures of the Ukrainian election campaign to the Verkhovna Rada and local self-government in 2006, the calendar of the election process, the information about Ukrainian political parties, blocks, history of elections in Ukraine etc.
    
    The Civic initiatives section relates about the election projects of non-governmental organizations and the information how to join their activity.
    
    In the Legislation section you can improve your awareness about the Ukrainian election legislation, you will find the comments and the analytical articles about the practice of its realization.
    
    In the section Activist guide we collected the guidebooks, articles, educational materials, which can assist in the organization of an election campaign, perform election process monitoring and take the training on election law practice.
    
    The special section Consultation provides users with the ability to consult the experts about the election legislation, features of the work of non-governmental organizations concerning the providing of fair and transparent elections directly through the web-site.
    
    The discussion of problems and perspectives of Ukrainian elections taking corresponding to the democratic standards are performed on the web-site Forum board.
    
    In the Web links section we gathered useful web-links to the Internet resources relating the election processes, information about non-governmental organizations, which work in the area of providing fair and transparent choices.
    
    We invite representatives of interested non-governmental organizations, political parties, and usual citizens to the participation in filling of the web-site.
    
    This Internet resource was worked out by the Center for Political Education within the framework of the Center project “Strengthening the activities of a nationwide NGO network to secure fair and transparent elections” performed under the support of the Strengthening Electoral Administration in Ukraine Project, US Agency for International Development.
