August 5, 2013.
handbook_picA handbook on “European Union Funding for the Neighbourhood and Russia” was released at the beginning of March. It seeks to demonstrate how some of the funding for the Neighourhood works, who is involved and where more information can be found out.
The handbook covers the issues related to the funding instruments, ways of allocation of funds, grants and contracts, budget support, cross border cooperation, etc. It also looks into how governments in the Neighbourhood partner countries are supported to bring about the change.
The handbook mentions institutions offering lending, like the European Investment Bank, and lists some ongoing funded projects. It also includes a glossary of EU funding terms.
This handbook is part of a series of publications produced by the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre. Some of the others are: “A Photographer’s Handbook” (2012) and “A Journalist’s Handbook” (2012).
The handbook is available in English, French, Arabic and Russian languages. It can be downloaded in English and in Russian.
