EU Commissioner Bienkowska to visit Kyiv on 27 March

On Tuesday 27 March, Elzbieta Bienkowska, Commissioner for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs will visit Kyiv, Ukraine. The prime objective of her visit is to discuss with Ukrainian officials and business representatives the progress of reforms and the potential of the EU-UA industrial and priorities for the EU-UA industrial and economic cooperation.
Commissioner Bienkowska will meet with Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroysman and First Vice-Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv, with whom she will open the 2nd EU-Ukraine High-Level Industrial and Regulatory Dialogue (see Background below).
Background:
High-level Industrial and Regulatory Dialogue between Ukraine and the EU puts emphasis on cooperation between both partners, fostering convergence between the EU and Ukrainian regulations on specific issues, such as automotive, textile, raw materials, technical barriers to trade and public procurement. It also promotes enhanced cooperation on issues, such as SMEs strategy, clusters or space and Ukraine's participation in key EU programmes, such as the Competitiveness of Enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (COSME) and Horizon 2020.
