The film Unconquered Land. A Testimony of Everyday Heroism is a documentary that tells the story of the heroic resistance of the residents of Ivankiv during the Russian occupation at the onset of the full-scale invasion in 2022. Through the personal stories of the main characters, including local residents, activists, and their families, the film captures the atmosphere of fear, pain, but also the resilience with which people stood up against the enemy.
The main characters share their memories of the occupation: how they risked their lives documenting the movement of enemy equipment, passing information to Ukrainian forces, organizing resistance, and helping their community survive under difficult conditions. Special attention is given to the story of the rescue of the Ivankiv Historical Museum and its exhibits, including priceless paintings by Maria Prymachenko. The film not only recounts the tragic moments of the occupation but also shows how local residents united to fight the enemy and restore their homeland after de-occupation. It is a film about the strength of the human spirit, mutual aid, and belief in Ukraine's victory.
Unconquered Land stands as a testament to the fact that even in the darkest times, Ukrainians maintain their identity and perseverance, continuing the struggle for the freedom and independence of their land.
